Biography

I graduated from the Department of Biology of the University of Athens in 2009, where I also completed my MSc in Microbial Biotechnology in 2012, and my PhD in 2018 in collaboration with the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. During my graduate years, I worked on the discovery of novel bacteria and enzymes and their valorization in biotechnological applications. From 2018 to 2021 I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Enzyme and Synthetic Biotechnology lab of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF), where I continued my previous research and I further worked on the identification of biofilm dissociation reagents targeting functional amyloids. Since 2022, I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB) at FORTH, focusing on the development of molecular methodologies for point-of care testing.
